100,000 Members Milestone!
Hi Members, it’s Darren @Darren Yeo Art here – the admin and creator of Watercolour Beginners and Watercolour Mentor Community As you can tell from the title, our community Watercolour Beginners just hit an incredible milestone.
Watercolour Beginners was created in the early hours of August 7th, 2020, in my little apartment in Carlton, Victoria, and since then it’s become a vibrant community filled with creative members and artists – from beginners to experienced painters. This community has been a constant source of joy and inspiration for me. Watching all the beautiful artwork come through, and seeing the positive impacts of art on everyone has been very rewarding.
I created Watercolour Mentor and Watercolour Beginners during lockdown here in Melbourne, Victoria. I had a lot of time on my hands and wanted to find a way to share my art with more people and to give back to the community. Funny enough, as we hit this milestone, I find myself back in lockdown again in Melbourne… but have been keeping myself busy doing weekly streams to freely share my knowledge of watercolour painting. It’s been very humbling to hear all the nice comments and encouragement, your support has meant a lot to me, to help keep me going, stay motivated, and finding new ways to best serve our community here. All of this has only been possible because of each and every one of you helping to form part of our community.
Whether you’re a beginner or advanced watercolourist, I encourage you to continue sharing your knowledge and to uplift and support one another through kindness, respect, motivation. A bit of positivity goes a long way these days to brighten up someone’s day. Art and painting specifically can be seen as a non-verbal form of communication and expression – I think those of us here understand its importance in helping us get through difficult times, as well as allowing us to appreciate and interpret the world around us through a universal language.
Thank you. I look forward to seeing more of your artwork and finding new and better ways to continue serving our community.
